Grice lock 1762
« on: September 17, 2015, 07:33:15 PM »
Acquired this lock.  It says Grove 1762 marked on it with the Kings crown stamped underneath the pan. On the inside it is stamped 77 by the bolster. Sparks well. Anyone have info as to who makes it.  Portobello maybe? Thanks.

Davide Pedersoli.    If my memory serves me right these were originally imported into the UK to be incorporated into Coach & Harness's own Brown Bess.  Pedersoli later took on production of the complete musket.  The lock can be bought separately.  Don't know the significance of the 77.  The year of the model perhaps?
