Is there a pre-carve out there that has the basic architecture of or enough material left in order to coax RCA #21 out of it?  For some reason the architecture speaks to me.   I am not quite ready to start with a solid rectangular piece of maple quite yet.  Maybe by #4 or so I'll be ready.

You might want to contact Fred Miller, he might have a pattern...  There's others who might as well.  I don't have his contact # in front of me but if you do a search, you should be able to find it.  There's other guys who do this service as well, hopefully some other guys will chime in with contact info...

That's a beautiful handling gun. If you come up with some one that has the pattern, I would be interested. Just make sure you have a very wide plank of red maple for that gun. The butt stock is very generous due to the shape and the check piece.

Dave Keck at Knob Mountain Muzzleloading has a dead ringer for that pattern. He calls it a Virginia rifle but it looks more Reading, Pa. I am using it now to build that rifle. He will inlet your barrel and he casts but plates to match the stock. He has a website. His phone no. is 570.759.2053

Buy a piece of wood and have a barrel channel run in it for the barrel and make the gun from a blank.
