A new guys build

First let me thank all of you for sharing your wealth of knowledge. There are a few guys out there that has really helped me. This is my first post, however I have been reading the discussions for a while. I am a fairly new builder, with a lot to still learn.
The photos are of a gun that I just finished.

Ether you put the lock on the wrong side or you flipped the negative when you printed it.

Thanks for taking the plunge and bearing you chest, and welcome to the site.

There are a lot of good things I see in your rifle, and you can be proud of the accomplishment.  I'm sure we'll see lots more from you.

    Hi, cebeaver. Well if that is your first build,you did great. I remember my first, I was good at inletting, But my stock looked like a 2x4. ::) So what is next ;D.    Good Luck    AL

For your first build I see some things you really did well that takes most guys a couple builds to get them right. Your wood to metal fit is outstanding and your overall lines good. The only thing I may suggest is to experiment with some different staining techniques on some scrap wood so as to bring out the curl and the beauty of the wood. Just some freindly advice but the overall build looks good. Keep building and keep the pictures coming. ;)

I didn't mean to mislead anyone, this isn't my first gun. It is the fifth one that I built.
When I said new I meant not an experienced builder.

     Welcome to the board and thanks for sharing your work!  The only thing I'd say in the way of a comment, would involve the patchbox.  I'm thinking it might be a little more effective if it was slimmed down quit a bit towards the front, like a ramp, and had a more pronounced taper to the sides.  You did a really nice job with the fit of the brass end into the butt piece.  Nice gun, and I hope to see more of your work in the future.
