Glad to see you made the trip from GB. The moderator "nononsense" and I have had words since he pulled the info off "his" forum. Apparently you may wish to consult him as he obviously knows more about long rifles than we here.
A further word of advice if you will. Don't get too hung up on a local restoration. Much better to seek the opinions of a few here through a good photo set, then perhaps the opinion of a fairly local collector.
Generally speaking restoration, except for very special pieces, is not favored. Repair, on the other hand, is not frowned upon if done properly and is well documented.
Should you have a "generic" late gun the cost of quality work might well exceed the value of the piece. On the other hand an earlier high quality gun might be a totally different story.
