Who makes these castings?
« on: December 10, 2010, 04:03:28 AM »
I acquired a brass butt plate casting with a H on the inside of the casting. Does anyone know who cast it. It is a very nice Lost Wax casting. I would like to purchase some more parts for my next build. Thanks, Bob

I 'm not possitive but I would guess that it was made by Dru Hedgecock.

Our York buttplate has a "H" inside a circle.  Actually, it is a J C back to back.  Could this be the buttplate you have?  If so we have plenty in stock.

Presently building a Chambers' early Lancaster and the buttplate has an "H" on the inside....not an ordinary "H" because it has horizontal  "tails" on diagonal ends.....Fred

Dru's stuff is sand cast.  Your's sounds like one of Jim's.

Wow, you all nailed it! After further review and comparison it is the sam "H" from one of Jim's kits. Thanks to all. I will call Barbie and get another one on the way. Bob
