A "Little" Different
« on: January 01, 2011, 02:00:50 AM »
I had some scrap pieces of 1084fg and rather than throwing them away I decided to try and forge some small blades. Used white tail antler tines for handles. They will be gifts for two young hunters to go on their hunting bags.

Thanks for looking.

Im likin em Mike. Knifes that size are real good little users. Make great little neck or patch knives.

The little roach belly is cute.  Have you thought of pouring pewter caps on them.  That would add the finishing tough to em.  Good job.  I like a simple little  project every once and a while.  Breaks up the monotony when you are fully engaged in a large one.

Thanks everyone. With my old eyes and fingers, they are a bit tricky to make. They have stirred a lot more interest than I thought. A number of friends already want one. Guess I need to make more.

You know what they say Mike, no good deed goes unpunished. By the time all your friends get one, you'll be tired of making them. :D :D

I like the looks and mystique of big knives, but I always find smaller ones a lot more practical and useful.  If you make some more and list them here, I'll sure snatch one up.  Really nice work, and those really suit my tastes with or without any more dressup.
