Thank you very much. My GGGG Grandfather came from North Carolina to Kentucky very early in the 1800's. I would not be surprised to find out that he packed a rifle similar to those. Thanks again, Mike

Dennis,
Thanks for putting this togather! I have fowarded it on to a relative of Billy Harkins whom, as you know, is directly decended from Union County's John Gillespie. Billy has no computer and it might be a couple of days before he gets it and calls me. I think it's very fitting that Billy, with no computer, hunts with his GGrandfather's old caplock Gillespie and has killed several deer, hogs and bears with it  ;D

Thanks to all for the kind words. I found out that my G Grandmother was a member of this gun making family back in the 1960's. I was told that only one or two of their rifles still existed. I took this as gospel and had no time to dig into it until my early retirement as a project manager for Lucent in 1997. I then worked as a part time project manager but finally had some time to research the family. I found lots of pure out and out fantasy along with many honest errors. I also found plenty of proven information that I had never heard about. I enjoy making it available for others to enjoy.
