We found some faint barrel markings on a Lancaster rifle previously thought to be unsigned. The rifle appears to be made around Lancaster Pa sometime from 1790 to 1810. The barrel appears to be stamped with a capital C then a dot or punch mark followed by what appears to be an S. I was not able to get my camera to actually pick up the letters. Any ideas on who may have marked their rifles in this way? It's possible that the S could actually be a G as I can only make out the top of the letter. This is kind of a shot in the dark, but figured I would try.
Thank you
