New horn and pouch set...
« on: February 11, 2011, 05:12:26 PM »
I would again humbly like to direct your attention to "the Contemporary Makers Blog" http://contemporarymakers.blogspot.com/
Where Art and Jan have posted my most recent attempts at bag making.

Please especially note the beautiful horn that Tim Crosby made for it. In my opinion, his horn truly is the heart of this "Double Heart" bag set.
Thanks very much Tim...

And what a great looking set it 'tis.  Both of you did a commendable job where the sum of all the parts equal one.  Love it!

Oh yes, a very, very nice set. Looks just like the original, and the details are great!

You two really made an outstanding combo there!

That is a wonderful bag. Since I have purchased your book, does that mean I will be able to turn out a bag nearly that good? I doubt that I will. You both do excellent work.

Thanks everyone for the kind words...and Ronnie, yes, I think you should be able to make such a bag even on the first attempt...getting the final finish down pat may take a few tries as most of that is trial and error as you develope a technique that works for you, but the technical details of the actual construction are really straight forward...and as always, should you hit any snags along the way I will do what I can to help...

Thanks for the positive comments.  Horns can look Ok by themselves but when matched up with a complementing bag it really makes a difference. Great job on the bag and putting it together.  Thanks for asking me to help Tim.
It is the horn made in this tutorial:
