All the supplies showed up today.
Had to build a pour spout and it was -10
Fired three shots and it shoots just great. I will have to set a target up in the next day or so and rough in the sights.

It is has been a long time since I snorted black powder smoke.

Looks like a fine rifle and this proves the attraction this game has for us all!

btw If you were loaded and ready to shoot in that one photo I'm sure you found out that it does not work too well with the hammer down and frizzen open ;D

Ok ok we know you did that for safety! ::)

How do your fingers work in all that snow and cold?

Keep your fingers out of the snow and it isn't too bad.  Handling balls, wet patches, steel patch boxes, brass, aluminum or steel range rods or  rifle or smoothbore barrels all tends to suck the heat out of your fingers.  Note he's wearing a heavy shirt and vest- no jacket or coat? Nice sun always helps regardless of the temp.

"Heavy" shirt means it has sleeves - HA!

It was sunny and no wind. Four shots was my  limit then I sat on the wood stove.

Nothing beats the feel of a handmade southern iron mounted flintlock on a cold frosty morning
