From the Volger family of Gunsmiths, another fine example. The member of the family has not yet been identified.

This Longrifle was almost certainly made by Timothy Vogler. He was born in 1806. In 1819, he started training as a gunsmith with his cousin John Vogler and also trained under his father Christoph.

He built his gunshop in Old Salem in 1831, it is still in operation under Blake Stevenson.  I showed Blake the photos of this rifle and he said he was sure it was made by Timothy and that M.E.S.D.A. has a very similiar rifle.
