Anyone ever hear of a W. G Crump? Gunsmith?

My dad bought a beautiful flintlock rifle that on the lock has the marking Maslin Warranted on it but on the barrel W.G.Crump # 71 on it. It is a true work of art w/  I believe silver inlays in it. There is a "stretched" star on the cheekpiece .  It may have been made for a preacher it has a fish inlayed in front of the trigger. I know maslin made locks between 1823-1833 in Maryland  but I was hoping someone could help me with W G crump#71 to maybe get a closer date for rifle. Thank you. I don't know a lot about muzzleloaders . I will try to get some pictures of this "work of art" rifle. The craftsmanship is wonderful.

It sonds like a nice rifle!
And pictures would be a big help.
Also, unless the name on the barrel is clearly stamped or engraved, it might not actually be what you think it is at first read, so maybe worth a second look.

The markings are stamped , I will try to get some good pictures. The craftsmanship is very nice . My dad routinely patrols a few pawn shops  and he clearly got a treasure in my opinion. The inlays look like they are made of silver.
