H. E. Leman

Here is an H. E. Leman smooth rifle I recently acquired.  It is in very good  "as found attic" condition. No cracks or splits in stock and bore is shiny with a few pits. This is a long and very slender rifle. It is artificially striped in typical Leman fashion.

Barrel:    44.25" long
               .463" bore
               width- 3/4" at muzzle
                          45/64" at first thimble
                          49/64" at second thimble
                          51/64" at entry thimble
                          57/64" at breech
Total length- 59 3/4"
LOP- 12 7/8"
Drop:  3 1/2" at heal
           7 3/4" at toe
Iron butt plate:  4 1/4" x 1 11/32"
Brass mountings except for iron butt plate
Stock width:  7/8" at muzzle
                     15/16" at first thimble
                     15/16" at second thimble
                     1 1/64" at entry thimble
                     1 7/64  at mid forearm
                     1 5/16" at front of lock plate
                     1 9/32" at rear of lockplate
                     1 5/64" at wrist x 1 27/64" high
One piece nosecap with RR groove pined on bottom two oblique flats.
3/8" ramrod with tip on breech end.
Lock has half cock but no fly.
Lock and barrel stamped H.E.Leman   Lancter.Pa in block letters
