I was wondering if any of you fellers might have a picture of a Bonewitz toeplate?I can`t find any in my books and I have done a search on this site to find that the Bonewitz pictures have been deleted.

I'll second the motion. I'm in to Roman-nosed designs (amongst others) and if Bonewitz used the Roman-nosed techinique I'd appreciate seeing some of his work.

I'm no expert on this forum but feel that Reedy & Figthorn both aprenticed to Bonewitz and their toe plates would possibly be O K
?? or not???

Great. You can even see the engraved elements that carried over to Reedy.

Dave,
Off the subject a bit, but would you have a side photo of the cheek carving on the a bove rifle? If so, please post it or send it to me at rbpodge@twlakes.net. Thanks.

I'd like to see the whole buttstock, at least from the tang back. I'd like to see if it had the Roman-nosed shape.

I have removed the two photos of the Bonewitz rifle posted by Dave B. They belong to a private collector and we don't have permission to publish them. Thanks for your consideration.
