Stopped at a house in my neck of the woods last Saturday and asked if i could hunt on his property. The man and his wife asked me what season it was and I explained it was ML season...next thing you know there inviting me into there home and the man is showing me his very old and beautiful flinters. The man has a French trade rifle and a old French military smoothbore. Both were repos but were made in the 70's and in outstanding condition. Wouldn't you know but the wife is coming down the steps lugging a gun case and the man produces a very beautiful 12 gauge double barrel flint shotgun! This gun was outstanding. It was a christmas present from his wife a few years back. Come to find out he's in charge of the living history society for Erie Co. (PA). It goes to show that there are still nice people in this world. I never introduced myself until I showed him my flinter, the couple were quite at ease with a total stranger at there door and we both made friends that I hope will last. BTW  I learned a lesson last Saturday...be humble amongst strangers and you may find a friend. PS never did get to hunt on his property. Tim

I think you did BETTER than finding one place to hunt. You found friends and like-minded folks!
And it's possible that they will call you some time and point you to somebody else's property to hunt on.

Always nice meet new friends with the same interests.  Perhaps someday you
will be getting together to do some hunting and shooting. :)
