Vinegar fuming,...questions
« on: June 23, 2011, 11:04:25 PM »
I'm fuming some brass parts with white and apple cider vinegar.  I've had some good luck with it.
I was wondering if I need to neutralize the brass with baking soda or the like to stop anything regarding tarnish from there on it?  I mean so everything remains brown and not green!

any suggestions on fuming you guys have,.. please share...!!
thanks!

I normally use the dark colored vinegar instead of the white it is more acidic. Just wash it with some like warm water and polish off with a towel.

Thank you Bart,.. much appreciated.
I've been using white and some mixed with dark cider vinegar,...I think I'll try the dark only see what happens.
