Don, don't ever try one of those fake copper wrist repairs on persimmon wood - there's some kind of nasty chemical reaction between the two, I originally had done it on Art's gun and after a couple days the wrist heated up like crazy and cracked almost in half, had to nail it back together.

Well played sir! ;D

Check out the John Getz-Allen Martin rifle posted on the blog site in October, 2009.    This was posted shortly after Art
Riser acquired it...................Don

Art........you just like nice things.    This gun of Ian is a dandy, I also like those neat, clean, almost delicate guns.   This is
something that is hard to do unless you are good on the forge, you just can't buy stuff to build a gun like this............Don

Ian,

I don't know what else I can add to what everyone else has written.  That's another great gun.

I just wanted to add this info - among the emails I had received asking about the rifle, it seems a couple of guys got confused by a link to some pictures of another rifle that Art had posted a page back. These 2 links ought to go to pictures of Art's rifle, just wanted to make sure we're all on the same page so to speak  -

Almost forgot, Don those two dozen persimmon stock blanks you ordered are ready, you want me to bring them along to Dixon's or the CLA show?
