Morning Gents; First I would like to thank Dr. Tim-Boone for posting these pictures. The pictures are of my interpretation of a hunting horn. The engraving depicts a 16th. century flower (Miss Bess) ready bird hunter with his faithful dog. (Jacob) I forged a scrapper, with wood handle, to thin the horn from the inside as thin as I dare. Curious only to effect the sound. Having no experience with old hunting horn sounds, not sure if I effected anything. Blade used to engrave was forged by me and heat treated, topped with small wood handle. Color, not sure what I was using at the time but I was playing with Potassium-Permag-something-something and water. Turned out to dark for my liken. "Oh Ya" the sound. When I tried to blow the horn. The house cat took off on a dead run only to return at evening feeding. "What does that say"? Thanks for looken. Jim
