drop in barrel?

  years ago i bought a swamped barrel from ed rayl, its a 50 cal,  44in" long and wondering if its possible to order from Ed a 54 cal  barrel with same contour and length? just wondering, was anyone done this? i hope Ed Rayl is reading this.

If you are trying to make it a .54 you might consider having it bored out to the larger diameter.  Cheaper than a new barrel and you do not have to worry about fit.

Yip,
I had Ed duplicate a barrel for me a number of years ago and  I rebreached it with the plug from the original barrel, dropped right in. Chip has it right though, unless you want 2 barrels in different calibers have the .50 bored and rifled in .54. Ed quoted me $135, plus shipping, recently.

depends on the profile and how thick the wall is at the narrowest part of the barrel. when you call ed let him know what profile,  a,b,c...etc
living in the hope of HIS coming.......
