Chuck Dixon's Interview on Blackpowdermag
« on: November 16, 2008, 02:37:34 AM »
I wanted to let you know that we have Chuck Dixon's interview  published on BlackPowderMag.   This interview was done by our own Tom Curran.  It includes a few photos along with the two part interview.  Even if you know Chuck, I think you will learn something new.

After using the link to www.Blackpowdermag.com click on "Audio Interviews".  Chuck's interview is at the top.  Below the photos are directions that may help depending on the type of internet connect you have.  I hope you like it.

The list of interviews is slowly growing.  I counted 22 at last count.  Included are:

Chuck Dixon       Reaves Goehring       David Price*
Homer Dangler   Wallace Gusler          Bill Rose
L C Rice              Mark Baker                Dick Greensides
Billy Watson       Wayne Dunlap           Bill Keeler
Dan Kindig          Tom Schiffer               Ron Ehlert
Jim Chambers     Mark Silver                 Lee Larkin
Mike Miller           Mike Brooks               James Klein

*David's page is up, but the interview failed and must be redone. My appologies.

Regards,
Larry Pletcher

(Moderators - I placed this in Gun Building because of Chuck's interest in building.  Please feel free to move it it should be somewhere else.)

I would love to hear the interviews but alas I'm on dial-up.  Unbelievably SLOW.  Forty five minutes download and I got about 30 some seconds.  I shall have to wait until I can get DSL or something better.  It not your fault.  Affordable option just not available out here in the sticks........................Lynn

This interview started out with CHuck balking so badly, I thought it wasn't going to take place. But I asked him about guns, and the rest is history. If you know Chuck at all, you know how hard it is to get him to STOP talking. Wonderful man, such a gift to the world.

I wonder about how the web will change society...those who have(high speed), and those who have not(dial up, or no computer at all). What will it all come to in a few years?

Acer, there are wide range wireless broadband protocols in the works.   Pretty soon, just about everyone in the US will have access to high speed.  Within the next 10 years.

I can't wait to get a chance to listen to some of these interviews.  I love listening to you old folks!  ;D

If you haven't tried it, try downloading the audio to your hard drive.  Right click and use the "save target as" to choose where to write on your drive.  It still may take some time,  but a friend of mine listened that way.  Directions are above the link.

Chuck is one of the greats in this society of ours.  In his own way he has done as much as many of our admired suppliers.  He's a great teacher and encourager.  With his personality he could have been a highly successful leader in many fields.  We're blessed he felt called to this one.

Rich, there is no doubt that Chuck would have drawn a flock to himself, no matter what the field. He is a remarkable man, and I feel so honored to be part of the Gun Maker's Fair, our fair, in case you ever wondered who's fair it is.
