Banded Horn W/Two Part Antler Tip

 This one is about 14” around the outside curve. The Cherry base is about 2 ¼”, with AF on it, followed by some oil. The tip is Whitetail antler, the collar is threaded 5/8-11 to the horn and the tip is ½-13. The bands were heated and pressed on, the center one has 3 steel pins and the base band has 4, that also hold the plug in. Bands colored with a mixture of dyes and the horn with AF and Brown shoe polish.

That's great!

Is there a reason for the two parts? Where their originals like that or is this more to showcase your considerable skills and do something different?

 There is a horn showen in Bill Ivey’s North Carolina School of Long Rifles 1765-1865 and Michael Briggs’ Piedmont North Carolina Banded Powder Horns Hunting Bags and Bullet Bags. It has a double screw tip of antler and wood, I took the lead from there.
