Rolf, I have no doubt you'd do well under the tutelage of a master like Ron and your work would go through the roof.

You can, talk to Ron. He often teaches at events across the country and offers one-on-one training our of his own shop in Oregon.

I had the chance to handle this rifle a few weeks ago and I can say very honestly that it is spectacular.  Ron's skills in putting this piece of art together shows his mastery of the gun making art and are an example of what a true master can accomplish.

ChipK, I'd love take lessons from Ron, but can't afford it. I live in Norway and the plane ticket alone would cost around $3000 .

Best regards

Rolf... How does this sound???  Ron and wife buy tickets to your place, Ron puts on a class for a given number of students for a length of time set by Ron. Students pay of course. You supply room and board for Ron and wife, plus a personal guided tour of parts of Europe for as few days..
I'm assuming Rons married... But hey... Might work for both parties.. Who knows... You might get an affordable class and Ron an affordable trip to Europe.

Well it was a thought anyway..

Nice idea Dave, but there is only about 1000 registered black powder shooters in Norway. Most of these shoot black powder cartridges.
Only 200 -250 people in Norway are active muzzle loader shooters. Of these there are only a handfull of builders I know of.

Best regards
