Chunk gun shoot in VA?
« on: September 26, 2011, 08:08:28 PM »
Would any of you Mid-Atlantic shooters be interested in a Chunk gun shoot at a private range in Central VA?

A couple of us had talked about this at the Southern Longrifle Show this past April (when I was still excited from my experience at the York Shoot). There is room for camping at the Range (though water is ~.5 miles away at the church and a general store is also .5 miles away). There is also the possibility (since this range is 400 yards) of including a 200 yard challenge or re-entry matches.

If any one is interested, post here. Timingwise, I'm think mid-April maybe, but I am certainly open to suggestions.

I would certainly consider it, though I'm down in Tidewater - where abouts in Centeral VA are you?  Might inspire me to finally stock up that chunk gun I've been thinking about for awhile.

The range is in Buckingham. Call it 1 hour west of Richmond.

This is access to a 400 yard range with a berm and plywood backstop. Yardages are marked for 100,200,300, and 400. We also have a 25m line marked for Appleseed instruction. We can support at least 25 shooters per relay and there is plenty of room for camping.

If there is interest I will move forward with planning and scheduling. As I wrote earlier we could combine a 60 yard chunk match with offhand or even a 200 yard roundball challenge.

Sounds like fun. Keep us posted and this PA shooter will try to make it with my chunk and proper attire.
