Absalom Moyer
« on: October 25, 2011, 08:30:05 PM »
Does anyone have an example of the signature of Absalom Moyer?  I am also looking for other suggestions for the maker of a Western PA percussion longrifle that is rather plain and has the script signature A. M.
I would put the gun in the 1850-1875 time period ie. hooked buttplate, small caliber, originally
percussion, little ornamentation.
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

Suzkat,
Anthony Milliron: Conamaugh Township, Indiana County...related to David Milliron; Mahoning Township ( near Putneyville )...maybe a connection there, as David lived near Putneyville ( Snyderville maybe ? ) at the same time William Shreckengost was in business.
