just curious .
If one was to buy an after market barrel tang are they made standard or do each company make their own to fit just right .
 I will have to modify the one i have to make a lollipop.
The thin part is approx .413

i cant answer your question but i thought i saw some lollipop style on the log cabin shops site

Yes, the new tang/breech plug will need to be fitted or timed to line up with your top flat and also have the breech plug face fit snugly against the breech chamber shoulder of the barrel.
It's not a terribly hard job but it will try your patience.   The first brrech plug I fitted took me several hours to complete.  If you have a long straight tang it will be much easier, in my opinion, to modify the tang rather than fit a new breech plug.

There can be differing thread patterns.  Examples might be 5/8" x 18 or 9/16 x 18.
