Very nice rifle that looks like its put together nicely too. Would the patch box be considered a variation of what was called the national road style?    Smylee

I have heard these refered to as National Road and it certainly could be considered a variation as they are certainly related.Here is a good representaion of my interpertation(athough i could be wrong ;) ) of National road patchboxes.

Mitch beat me to it. A good number of Ohio rifles had that "National Road" patchboxes. Seemed to migrate with the population maybe. Nice gun Mitch!
