Just got my Chambers English Sporting rifle kit back from John Schippers and had to show you all what his new book will teach you. Just have to practice for 50 years or so.

Lets see 50 years practice, if I start now I should be able to do that by the time I am 112. What do you think, Should I go for it? ;D

Ronnie

P.S. I don't think I would ever be that good. That is fantastic work.

Reading his book makes you think you can do it. If you dont have it, you should get it.

I forgot to mention on my first post that the gun with out the fantastic engraving is still a great looking gun. With the engraving it just adds more frosting to the cake.    Smylee

When I saw the first photos I thought they were drawings.   How did you get that effect?

Leatherman, you've made a good investment.  John's engraving compliments an already fabulous firearm.  I just received my copy of his book, "Engraving Historic Firearms" and I've been savouring his work and techniques.  Yours is another fine example.

Now, take it out and shoot it.

The rifle is one of Chambers kits that I fininished/ carved. Just goes to show how a quality kit can be turned into something special. This baby is going to Africa this June to hopefully take some plains game. Just like the originals were built for. John took these pictures before he sent the rifle to me so he is also quite the photographer too.
