The High Point Museum has announced a Longrifle Seminar featuring William W. Ivey, Kenneth Orr and C. Michael Briggs on Saturday, August 11th from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.  This seminar will focus on the Percussion Period 1830 to 1880 in North Carolina.  We will discuss what happened to each of the Nine Longrifle Schools in North Carolina during this period.  After lunch Kenneth Orr will give a seminar on Longrifle Making.

The cost to attend this seminar is $20 which includes lunch.  To make a reservation please call the High Point Museum  at 336-885-1859 before August 9th.

Phase Two of the North Carolina Longrifle Exhibit continues until August 25th and features 27 outstanding percussion period Longrifles from North Carolina.  Also featured are 3 Piedmont North Carolina  Bee-hive Powder Horns and three Jamestown School Pistols.  The High Point Museum is open Wednesday - Saturday from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M.  Admission is free.
