Makers Fair judging
« on: April 07, 2012, 01:22:17 AM »
Ok a question for you gunbuilder judges out there.  (I refer now to judges or wanna be judges at Chuck's Fair)  Are deduction 'points' applied on a piece that the builder has used in the matches prior to the fair.  Said piece may well show some crud and useage dings from said use.  Or must the piece be brand new in pristine condition. Or to put it another way virgin. ???

Holy Mackerel, Roger. What kind of a question is that?

Are you coming directly from a shoot, and won't have time to clean the gun before you enter it?

I don't think it matters.

Anyone who is interested in putting some time in at the judging booth, would be much appreciated. You need to know proper form and construction, and any historical knowledge is a boon. It's interesting and educational. You get to spend time with some guys who really know guns.
