Just took the file down at an angle.
The wide v notch does not go as low and the sight base.
Kept the front post sight just above the heat image of the barrel..Got a thing for low sights on flintlocks..
Will report come mid Sept on the tree rats.

Waterfowl - your sight is almost identical to the sight on my .45 longrifle.  With it, I've shot many 1/2", 5 shot groups at 50yards, with 3F and 2F. Used correctly, it is an accurate sight.  In the fall, hunting, heat will not be a problem - it's a very aquisitioned fast sight and will work well, I'm sure.
