web site for dealer in antique longrifles
« on: August 06, 2012, 12:40:52 AM »
I believe this site has been around for a while but I just discovered it and found it includes a interesting brief write up of a Simon Lauch (Winchester VA) rifle and the history of Simon's career. A lot of folks have asked questions about that family and the relation to PA.

I found that site about a year ago and they have some nice guns and knives on it.Nothing that I could ever afford but I enjoy window shopping.I am real fond of the John Noll in case someone wants to know what I want for Christmas. ;)

I don't know if any of us has the $195,000.00 to pay for it.

I do like his web-site as he has some pretty nice guns!
At $195K, I'd guess that Noll will be around for some time for us to look at and enjoy!

And actually, studying the Roop rifle he has is what helped convience me that one of the rifles I have, with a really light signature on the barrel, wasn't a Roop, but made by John Brooks instead. Not that it makes much difference, but it's nice to know the correct maker.

Thanks for posting this, Gary.  I lost my links etc in a computer crash, and had been trying to remember where I saw that N. Beyer rifle.

He has a wide range of rifles on there - and from time to time some very affordable, others very high end.  But from what I have seen some very nice examples from a variety of schools.  The photos are great.

Flintersmith,
I thought I recall Tim saying he is a Lauch descendent. He certainly has had some beautiful rifles on the site.
