Custom Powder flask
« on: September 26, 2012, 07:32:40 PM »
Been on the forum looking at accoutrements for 3 years now and a thought just hit me.
I've never seen anyone post a brass powder flask they made themselves.  I know there
are plenty enough talented guys on here who could do one.  Surprised nobody has.
Has anyone ever seen or done one?

Brass flasks may be considered "late" for the longrifle period though the rifles were surely used into the factory metal flask era.  Or considered in-congruent with the longrifle, the horn being more traditional............Just a thought............Lynn

Bull, That's a fairly common factory made flask.  I think Rob is looking for a more homemade type flask, but any of the metal flasks were pretty late, including this one.

Rob,
The only "metal" flasks that I have seen that were custom made were of the brass tube variety. I have a custom " wood" flask made up of 3 pieces of birds eye maple.
