Again....Freshing a barrel
« on: September 24, 2012, 03:54:11 PM »
With all the Iowa rifling benches built, is any freshing or re-boring barrel's? After my accident(both shoulders "gone"),I cant pull  a freshing rod more than 4 time before I have to quit,3 day's later,4 more pull's,and so on....

I have an un marked original barrel of an odd ball swamp I would like done. Got a really good deal on the gun,but the bore is literally, rough as a cob. I have an oppertunity to get more gun's,but if I cant find a source for the work,I may pass. Thank's Guy's!

Thank's,and I'm positive it's worth EVERY penny,but I'm re-tired and although I'm not broke..............

So,since freshing the barrel isn't a possability, can I send the barrel and have the profile matched to a new barrel? It's 41-1/2" and @ 1-1/16" at the breech.

Thank's guy's! I'll see what we can get done.

The gun was built in the '60's and it look's like original part's were re-cycled into this gun. No signature or marks on the barrel at all.Kinda Roman nosed and the wood used is Curly,Wormy,Maple. I'll get pic's up once I get done moving...AGAIN! AAAARRRGGG!
