There is a similar Joe Long  carved swivel double in the section devoted to Long in the ebook " Gunamkers of the Upper Susquehanna" as well as several other Long rifles. A third similar swivel is illustrated in Edith Cooper' book, "The Kentucky Longrifle and Me"

I know of several Joe Long swivel breech guns, also a pistol is owned by a local collector.   I have also seen several
Joe Long rifles unsigned, but there is no doubt as to who built them.   He is buried in the old cemetary in Beaver Springs,  Pa.   Beaver Springs is an unincorporated area and has no specific boundaries, currently lies within Spring Township,
not Beaver Township.  It is possible that the early census shows him as living in Beaver Township.  This may be correct
and Spring Township may have been created after that.   I am not certain as to when he worked with Samuel Morrison
who lived in Milton, Pa., which is in Northumberland County.   Years ago a gentleman at the Pottstown show called me
over to his table to show me a rifle that was signed "Morrison and Long", the only one I ever saw like this.........Don
