Is there anybody actually doing any lock polishing out there?  Tom?  All I see is a bunch of men polishing the keys on their keyboard, present company included.  After reading Toms initial post a couple of days ago I got excited and took it as a challenge to get out to the shop and polish up my Tulle lock now that all the parts swapping and modifications have been made.  Tom, I challenge you to a lock polishing duel.

Geeze, Dave, what are the criteria? Speed, finish, crisp edges....mental stability.... before or after?

I just got out my rubberized abrasives, and hate them. Gives me a warbeley surface. not smooth, but shiny. So back to the stones.

if you want a race, Rase, count me out. However, I will go head to head on quality of workmanship, but i am more like a turtle, as in the "Tortoise and the Hare" Speed ain't in it.

You're on, buddy. hahahaha.

Where's my white coat with the long sleeves?

All right then, pumice powder and bark tanned leather at 20 paces.  Do you have a spare white coat with long sleeves?

Acer-Dave has got you close ..."leather lapps" backed by a firm surface! & Hey that's what apprentices are for. Take in a lad or two... you only owe them a suit of small clothes when they are done. Mine is fluent in the brewing trade so that is a plus. He does all that nastyness for me! Just remember your only going to chew the whole lock up to inlet all that gold  you have been hording!

Seriously leather lapps on firm surfaces work faster then stones
For what it is worth
