Hi,
I am not an experienced builder, I've built 2 guns so far. The first was a Rifle Shoppe Ferguson and the next was a Chambers pistol. Looking at your posting history and the way you framed your question I'm guessing that this is your first build. If its not I apologize.
I was very exited to order my kit from the Rifle Shoppe. Then I waited a long time. They are good folks but supply a lot of different kits and that means scheduling parts runs at the foundry. Don't get frustrated if parts don't show up quickly. They will show up and the parts are good quality.
I stopped being excited when the parts finally did arrive. I was new at this and thought "building a kit" meant detailed instructions and just assembling nearly finished parts. I ended up putting the parts in the closet for 5 years. I was overwhelmed and didn't know anyone that did this stuff so couldn't figure out what I needed to know.
One of the key things that got me going was being pointed to this site. I couldn't do a build without help from other builders here. But it is crucial that you also buy a few books to get some background so you can laser in with a specific question that is not general knowledge covered in a build book. I started with Dixon's "The Art of Building a Pensilvania Longrifle" which is a good book for laying out the process simply. Lately I have picked up Alexander's book as a second source. In addition make sure you have anything you can find about the specific gun you are building.
You are going to find this an immensely rewarding journey.
