found this in an antique shop in the finger lakes of NY ,hoping to here your thought on what i got. i can tell that it was converted from flint and the barrel has been cut down.
inside of lockplate is stamped with psk

Give us some weight and dimensions etc.  And some more pictures from closer and different angles. Have you pulleed the barrel yet to see if anything is enscribed on the bottom??

it appears to be about .50 the barrel has been cut down to35 7/8 there are old dove tail slots at the front just behind the muzzle the rifling is very faint thought it was smooth at first
overall length is 51 3/8
don't have a scale but i would guess 7 to 8 pounds
only marks i could find was psk stamped on back of lock plate in 1/16th high letters

the dealer said it came out of a estate sale in penn yan ny that was all the info he had

I am fascinated to see what anyone comes up with for geography and possible builders etc. Neat gun!!  Great find!

The pictures aren't very clear, and you don't show much of the rifle, but it looks like it could have been made in Lancaster.

Trigger, guard and sideplate look a lot like the ones that J.P. Beck used on his rifles. The architecture could pass for Beck's time, too. Nothing on the barrel top or bottom? Gun could be a rebuild off of an earlier rifle, perhaps even a Beck. How is the nose held on? Does it happen to have three rivets? I don't see it has having been built by him, but then I don't have it in my hands to judge.

Given the stated provenance as being from an estate in Penn Yan there are certainly possible PA connections. No question about it that the gun resembles a late Lancaster product.

On the other hand the larger caliber suggests an Adirondack rifle. I forget the maker, but there was a good sized outfit in the Albany area using a number of PA employees that made such rifles. These are often difficult to distinguish from their PA cousins, other than that many were made with heavier game in mind and thus of larger caliber.

So my observation is that this is very likely a NY gun. Very late and quite plain as would be
expected.

I thought the side plate looked like berks stylethere is a slight recess at the nose

A few of the gun's details look pretty new to me, such as the side plate and its two lock bolts with modern appearing slots. It will be interesting to see what it really is when good pictures are posted. Shelby Gallien

Just judging from the rather poor quality photos my first impression was it's a comtemporary gun that has seen a fair amount of hard use.  I certainly could be wrong, and better quality photos shoud tell the tale.

So you think someone took the ALR rifle and converted it to percussion?  That can't be true, the ALR rifle is still up there. ;D

How about good pix of lock, toe plate (if any), fore end tip and top view of buttplate?  Looks like you have a great find from Nord's neck of the woods.  Close to my old stomping grounds, too.

I agree with Jim, I don't think it is more than 25-30 years old.    Nice Beck guard on it but the side plate is not a Beck.

A few other comments.   Comb is not a Beck, also check out the "hammer screw"........appears to be a socket head..........

sorry guy things got crazy and i haven't gotten to check in . there is no doubt that its had a fairly rough life who ever did did the bucther work on it was not the original builder . the lock screws have been replaced but they forced the 
threads into the old plate threads. the barrel was cut off i think the nose cap was reused but i can't tell how its held on it looks like there may be three small pins and it wasn't inlet very well the . the hammer screw is actually a nurled nut
on what looks like the old broken off screw still trying to get better pictures.
