English fowling piece
« on: February 04, 2013, 08:59:21 PM »
Here's an English fowling piece I picked up a while ago.  It appears to me to have been made in the late 1760's to the early 1770's.  Marked “London” on barrel top.  Maker’s name originally engraved on lock plate, but illegible.   A quality gun, which includes some very nice engraving. Some restoration, including lock reconversion.  Enjoy the photos!  Any questions just ask.  Check "for sale" section if interested.

Thanks!
Jim

Those are nice. I always like to see them. They feel real good when you shoulder them. I had a real decent one awhile back. If I can find my pictures I will post it. Think mine was made by Pearman, 1730's. Thanks for sharing, Great Gun
