I really had to talk myself into heading out yesterday as the winds were blowing 25 to 30 mph and I really don't like turkey hunting in that kind of weather. But with snow and rain predicted for the next few days, I figured I'd better go. I sat in my normal spot for an hour or so, and after not being able to hear anything due to the wind, I decided to call it quits. On the way out, I did want to check the other side of the shelterbelt I was hunting for any turkey sign. I was surprised to spot a nice group of birds there and was able to put a sneak on them.
Shot this guy at 10 yds. Although I could get another tag, Two birds is enough for this season.
