Another North Carolina Style Horn
« on: March 18, 2013, 02:47:56 PM »

This is another take on a horn I posted a week or so ago. It is about 14” around the outside curve. The Apple wood base is about 1 ¾” it is hollowed out about ¾ of the way and held in by the same 4 steel pins that hold the base band in place. There is a staple inserted in a shallow hole for the strap. The one piece tip is Whitetail antler, held on by 3 more pins. The center bad is secured with 3 pins also. Color is AF then ,while it was warm, a quick wipe down with Saddle Tan oil based leather dye, followed by Brown shoe polish.
