York Shoot

How many of you folks from the North have had a chance to get out and shoot your chunkgun? Up here in central Michigan it is either snowing - raining with some wind mud up to your knees or colder than witches nose . Sure hope it is better weather down in the valley of the three forks of the Wolf. Have a safe trip down and see you there. Eric D. Lau

I too hope we in the valley of the three forks of the Wolf area gets better weather before the shoot. Today had freezing temps and snow, but a couple of us got out and shot about three hours in the current conditions. Cabin fever got the best of us today.

When is snows use a plank rest.
Its traditional and keeps people out of the muck in bad weather. It also helps people who have problems getting up from prone. The reason we use it.

Getting everything ready to head south, looking forward to seeing everybody. Don't worry about the weather. Somehow the Valley of the three forks always seems to come through for us. Kind, sort of, maybe, well at least we get to shoot.

Eric, we've been waking up to temperatures in the 20s down here the last couple of days. Supposed to be 70 tomorrow so I may go shoot tomorrow. I shot Tuesday afternoon, wind was pretty bad.

Dan, You're absolutely right. If I were to attempt a chunk shoot now, I would need both my healthy grandsons to help me get up. Getting down isn't a problem- gravity takes care of that!.

Bill,
Don't feel like you have a lock on the getting up and down syndrome. Some of the fellows over in Indiana have started "table shooting" and it may be part of the answer to what us "more mature" shooters need.
I built a bench and am looking forward to decent weather to give it a try. Robin nWarner will have one at the York for demonstration.
