This is a late, plain Beyer and not up to the quality of Beyer's earlier work. The first bid hit $3,500.00 and didn't meet reserve, I really don't think this gun is worth much more than that.

By the way, this seller is the same guy who sold the other Nicholas Beyer that was on Gunbroker a year or so ago, I wonder where he's coming up with the Beyers?

Heck of a signature. The gun looks like it was hardly used.

I was looking at this a couple of days ago. I had to take a 2nd look, it struck me as odd. The signature is a little different than normal as is some of the hardware. For example, the spur on the trigger guard is not consistent with  his usual work, also the butt plate at the heel. There were 3 styles of side plates that he normally used, the side plate on this piece is extremely different in form from the other 3 styles. The toe plate on the other hand is typical. The carving certainly appears to be his and the form of  the cheek rest is correct. I think I would like to have this one in my hand before I bought it. I was wondering what the reserve was, he probably is thinking 5 digits.

I agree with you Frank, this is a different Beyer, and I would not meet the minimum purchase price.   It is in beautiful shape,
but there are things that don't appeal to me insofar as a typical Beyer.   The heel of the butt plate is not the normal Beck/Beyer type.   It is not the gun that you would drive too far to purchase,......something missing..........Don
