Repaired original antique horn
« on: March 22, 2013, 05:49:26 PM »
I posted this question some time ago;but can't find it posted and can't recall (that's not new) where..

Reporting back the water glass worked simple and fine.   Lowes supplied it.  Poured in with small funnel (none on the outside of the horn please) I would estimate 2 full tablespoons with horn butt down held carefully in padded vise.  Left plug out for a day, then poured excess out, hung above oil burner (with plug out). for couple or three days.  Then tested and she was airtight.... ;D  Poured in abt 60 grains of powder and happily it poured back out..  Problem solved.  We sure don't want a leaky horn used.... ::)
