Checked the blog when I got home from work today and saw a beautiful rifle by Jim Turpin. Beautiful workmanship. Very elegant, slim rifle with lots of wire an inlays. Not something I'd take to a "rondyvoo", but sure is a show piece. I really enjoy looking at Jim's work at the CLA.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

A little too much wire for me personally, but otherwise love the gun. I'm always saddened more guys don't put out some of the later style guns, many, like this one, are quite beautiful.

Very much a work of art, well displays the makers exceptional skills, but a little over the top for my tastes.
