My first attempt at engraving a hawk.  What do you guys think?

Wow is not enough to describe this hawk head.  Am anxious to see what you do with the handle.  Great work--I would definitely be proud to carry it or display it in my home.

I tried forging a hawk like this in Damascus just yesterday.  Think I need to stick to more manageable steel first. Taking an engraving class in may. LOG CABIN SHOP.
Hawk looks fantastic. I won't buy one, I have to forge it myself. love this pattern, less the pipe.

From the looks of things Rob the family metal and woodworking skills did not fall from from the tree. Beautiful hawks! Love the relief carving and engraving AND the overall look of them.

I may get scolded (and justly so) for being too picky, but I'm concerned that the engraving goes so close to the edge.  Carelessly sharpened, the engravings could be damaged. Maybe it will never get outside, but since Hawken62 said he'd be proud to carry it, I thought I'd mention it.
