Powder at Friendship
« on: June 01, 2013, 05:15:43 AM »
I heard from a buddy of mine that powder may not be available at Friendship this year.  Anyone know if this is true or not?

Not true, they have thousands and thousands of pounds of it. They are even taking pre-orders on
their web site.

Thanks Phil.  My buddy usually buys a large amount and didn't want to make the trip if he couldn't buy any.

Has SR62 been reopened or do we still have to go to beautiful downtown Elrod
and come in on the Ho Chi Mihn trail?

Powder is for sale to members only. Proof of membership and an ID are required for the purchase. You can buy a first year, one time only membership for $20. My hunch is you'll like it, and renew that membership. If you can find a retailer of black powder, you'll probably pay $25-30 per pound. Goex will be $16.50 a pound, so about 2 pounds of powder a year makes up for the membership cost.
