Anyone tried this finish?
« on: June 18, 2013, 01:48:10 PM »
I'm a fan of Chambers oil finish, but I just saw this on TOW and it's new to me. Has anyone tried it or know anything about it? How does it compare to Chambers? Chambers is much darker but anything else. Here's the link

I'm pretty sure that that is TOW's version of Wahkon Bays old finish. I believe they started making it after when Bill Young retired. While it is very forgiving to apply and looks good it is not a very durable finish particularly compared to the Chambers oil.I used on my first couple of guns. After wearing it clean off one of my rifles on a hunt while wearing wool gloves I have stopped using it.

Thanks Mitch.
I'm always looking for a better way, I guess I'll stick with Chambers.
