Lancaster rifle
« on: June 26, 2013, 05:34:34 PM »

Pictures are a little fuzzy...This is a Walnut stocked rifle I just finished. It has a 42" C weight Rice 50 caliber barrel, Chambers Large Siler lock, double set triggers, cast brass butt plate and trigger guard. The rest of the parts I made. The sights may be a bit tall yet-Time to shoot!

Nicely done.  A nice businesslike rifle.  Needs to get the brass dirty and do not lay it on the concrete :-)
kind regards, heinz

Thanks guys. I shot it yesterday. Bullet on bullet at 25 yards and about 2 " at 75(benched). As usual the rifle shoots better than I can.

Very nice gun Cmac. A real straight forward, honest looking creation. I suspect that there are very few of us who can shoot these guns to their fullest potential. I know I can't!

Very nice rifle!..walnut looks good!Like the contrast of the brass to wood.
appreciate the low profile cover and the fact it angles toward the wrist.
Congrats !
?The double wood facets on the lock side panels...is this your design or is that common trait for Lancaster period rifle?

I believe it is common. Plenty like it in Rifles of Colonial America book. Oh and thanks!

I like this rifle as lot!  Enough fancy to keep it from being too plain but not enough that you have to concentrate to see the rifle under the decorations as some of the later originals were made.
