Lathe Work
« on: January 12, 2009, 05:03:34 PM »
Ron's horn shows a nice application for a small lathe.  I bought a Jet mini-lathe recently when Woodcraft was having a sale.  Last weekend I turned some parts from a nice little piece of Walnut that was given to me.  Here's a priming flask.

I turned the shape and cut it into two pieces.  I bored out the inside of the parts and cut a shoulder on the top piece.  I glued them together, cut the hole for the priming valve and assembled.  Took about two hours.

Neat work.  I'm playing with a lathe I got from my father-in-law.
