My new Deer rifle
« on: July 22, 2013, 05:37:16 PM »
This rifle was inspired by the Bogle rifle. I made it a little beefier and added silver to it. It has a Rice "B" weight .50 barrel 44" long. The lock started as Chambers gun maker's lock and has been modified to look like a Ketland English lock. All other parts I made including the wood screws and lock nails. It has been aged some and will get a bit more gunk added before I'm done.

Very pretty. That A-weight sure makes for a slim gun.

I like it - just enough silver added to make it funky and southern looking but you also knew where to stop.  Nice iron work.

Add me to your fan list.  I like everything about it.
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

Barrel is not an A weight like I first posted it's a B weight. Don't know the weight I'll have to find a scale I can use.

Blue Jay feather is gone guy's. I just happen to see it laying in the yard the day I was taking photo's and used it for a prop. After the photo's it was discarded back to the lawn.

Brian, I loved your "hog rifle" that you built for sale and this one is a "beauty" also.  Being left-handed makes them even more appealing to a leftie.  But, great work on both and if I had the extra money, I would take the hog rifle off your hands.  Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful piece. The only problem I see is that it's not sitting in my gun cabinet! I like what you did with the gunmakers lock. Good job.
